Using Webmail

This article applies to email accounts setup under cPanel Hosting Control Panel. If your email is hosted by clickonit.com.au then this information applies to you.

Users can access email accounts at anytime via a web browser. Any web browser can be used including FireFox, Explorer, Chrome, Safari and many others. The only requirement is that you have a working Internet connection.

To accessyour mailbox...

1. Go to http://webmail.yourdomain.com - where yourdomain.com is your own specific domain name.

2. The username for the account is the email address in full e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com - using your own email address of course.

3. The password is the password chosen when your email account was established. This is the password you use to access email in Outlook or any other email client program you may use. If you don't know it you will need to reset it in cPanel. Of course you will need to update it in other programs that store this password as well.

4. Once logged into webmail you will need to select your mail interface. We suggest Horde, but you may choose any of the others and find your own preference.

When the interface loads, you will see your inbox and can read, reply and compose new emails directly in Webmail.

The application is powerful and has many controls. Use the online help in the interface to assist you. Log out when you are finished.

Webmail works well on desktop computers, tablets and at a pinch, smartphones.

Important

The most important point to remember when using webmail is that teh mail you send is stored ONLY in webmail and you will not be able to access it from your phone or desktop computer. If your want a copy of any mail you send from webmail sent to your phone or desktop, be sure to CC or BCC your own email address.

Any email that you delete in webmail, will be gone for good. You will not be able to access deleted from any platform.
